Storage ideas for AT853 capsules

Howdy:

I've managed to accumulate a set of capsules for the AT853 mics.  Any hints as to how to store these?

i just have mine in m&m mini containers.  each container has a bit of foam at the bottom.  each cap is in its antistatic packing. would love to have some deseciacant in there, but no room.

I only have the 853 cards and the 943 microlines.  I keep the cards attached to the bodies.  The microlines I keep in the windscreens, wrapped in bubble wrap. 

If I had more caps I would put them in a 35mm film container with foam.

I have seen little pill container things that would fit the caps perfectly.  You might want to check a drug store.

I agree with Richard, its very important to store mic capsules when ever possible with the mic body's attached because this protects the mics from static discharge that can unpolarize a mic capsule. I would also suggest that people with really expensive mic capsules use antistatic bags to store them. IMO its very rare for a mic capsule to get zapped but it does and can happen.

I agree with what he is saying about foam but to be honest I still think a capsule that is not attached to a mic body / preamp should be stored in a anti static bag.

I use a film canister with a piece of cotton on the bottom then the capsules and a piece of cotton on top.

Where would one get small anti-static bags to reasonably fit AT853 caps?  Didn't find much on an internet search.  Thoughts?

BTW, my preamp, custom cables, and cards arrived today in good condition.  I'm going to go make a couple quick tests now before I head off to bed.  I had expected the mics to come with a single 1/8" connector, so thanks for setting me up with the mini-xlrs!

Your welcome! thank you as far as static bags they can be purchased from most office supply houses or electronics companies like digikey.com check them out. If you have trouble let me know I can find a source for you.
