Topic: Manfrotto 3102 Rapid Adaptor?

Will that 5/8" fit over a 5/8 thread mic stand or does it have to be a 5/8 stud?  Wasn't sure if the stud and standard 5/8 were the same dimensions.  Can someone check who has this?

If you have 5/8 threaded, then why are you buying this?  But, to answer your question, it will fit over 5/8 threaded, but it would have to be a very long threaded shaft for the set screw to have something to cling to.  My regular threaded stand is way too short for the set screw to have anything to hold onto.

Because my stereo bars are 3/16.   

That's just the answer I wanted.  I have the Shure stand and it's a long straight shaft.  This looks to work.  Thanks for the response!

I have the regular thread adapter that everyone makes but they are cheap and the nut on top is so short.  Don't feel real safe running on those things.

Just make sure that you don't damage the threads on the Shure stand by overtightening the set screw.

I will.  It actually looks like it will clear the threads on the Shure stand.  I might even drill a tiny hole to screw that screw into.

You probably don't want to do that.  When you screw down your 3/8 on top, having the Rapid Adaptor free to move to the correct orientation, makes things much easier.  In other words, I screw my bar onto the adaptor until is is fully tightened, and then adjust the way it is facing by loosening the screw, and adjusting the adaptor.
