Has anyone had the chance to use one of these capsules with the AKG 460 bodies? Even more specifically with the JW Mod 460 bodies? Looking for a Figure 8 capsule for M/S recording so if there is something better suited for this I'm open.

I believe Dirk (TNJazz) mentioned he had some 460's with the red lollipop's for a brief time.

Thanks! I've been searching through the archives and saw mention of these caps, but no actual feedback on sound. I'll hit Dirk up and see what his thoughts are.

BTW, I believe we met outside the Mule show here in Birmingham last Nov and you actually turned me on to here. :) Thanks for driving me to Ramen Noodle! :)

I've been curious about the LD caps that Oktava offers for the MK012 boddies as well.  anybody have any experience with them?

I never used lollipops with 460's.  I used the vintage Gefell lollipops (M8 and M9) with 451's though.  Didn't really knock me out like I thought it would so they're long gone.  Plus they're much more suited to studio environment.  Vintage stuff like that makes me nervous in a "taping" environment.  The Red stuff (made by Blue) looks to be pretty solid though.  Never tried them though.  I would imagine JZ's stuff is similar (we won't go into that whole saga again though)...

Wow, JZ's getting a lot of interest here all of a sudden.  That means he'll probably be here soon enough.   :P (j/k...well, not really   ::))

Thanks for the info. I found his mics/site searching through the archive and thoguht I would get others opinions. Regardless of sound I would imagine these lollipop capsuls are big chick magnets.  ;D

I just received the R2 head for the 451's...I'm gonna mostly run it with the 451 but I will certainly try it with the 460 w/reducer ring this week and report back...
