So we've got

Sennheiser MKE40    > w microdot connector into the MMA-6000
DPA 4021               > should also work with the DPA Pre ?
Audix 1290             > Preamp ?

where the last two seem a bit difficult for stealth taping purposes. Or are there approprate ways to use them not visible to anybody else?

So it seems like the Sennheiser are the alternative cardioid mics to the DPA 4060 ?

I think so. Use a custom BB. Either with Lemo ($$$) or whatever (locking) connectors. Is easy, small and cheap.
Go line in and have no worries.

If you're considering the DPA 4021, then you could probably afford the Schoeps CCM4 or 4v. Also you should have no problem stealthing with the 4021 and you can't use the MMA-6000 with them AFAIK since they take P48 and have xlr terminations.

Hi,
I'd go with the MM-HLSC-1 (Sennheiser driven) all the way.
Mics..........................SP-CMC-8, HLSC-1 and HLSO-MICRO
BB and Preamps........MM Micro bb / MM Custom Elite bb / Church 9100

Recorders...................Tascam DR-100MKIII, Marantz PMD 620 MKII, Edirol R-09

For a wealth of information provided by many excellent ts.com users about the DPA 4021's and powering/pre-amp options, see this topic:

I opened the topic about my own issue, and received a ton of excellent advice.
