please help - looking for a case for akg c422
« on: March 15, 2008, 12:03:39 PM »
right now i have a sound projects mic briefcase which i have redone with foam to fit the s42, the mic, and the windscreen. this works fine, but i want something smaller - something to house just the mic. i have a pelican 1060 (which i use for something else), and it is not long enough. unfortunately, i dont see anything similar, but longer, on the pelican site.

any input, ideas, or advice is most appreciated.

I used to roll mine in bubblewrap and shove it into a poster tube that I cut down in length.

I am looking for something for my C34 as well, I looked at Pelican but they didn't have what I was looking for either. These jewel boxes look like they may work but they are not cheap.

I know you like, tape for people's approval and stuff, and wave your tapes around like they're your dick...  but even you can't actually think section tapes from philips sound good.

I bet one could make a nice tube with caps on both ends with some of that drain pipe, some egg-crate foam, and some adhesive.

Or if someone was handy, it wouldn't be too hard to make a wooden box with hinges.

Or if you don't need a hard case, you could buy a couple of the $15 Studio Projects LSD2 windscreens and stick one on either end of the mic.

in this thought, you could do the same with some poly-vinyl drain pipe in 3" or 4" (size??), with end caps, from Home Depot.

Tupperware-type stuff, from places like Big Lots, 99ยข Store etc.
