strange looking wave file
« on: June 03, 2007, 02:31:20 PM »
the right channel is like this through out the whole recording

this is a very quite part with just the singer talking.  there seems to be a slight hum in the right channel from something on stage?  but not sure why it's cause the file to look like this.

here it is zoomed in a bit

source not that it should matter is AT 4050 (fob, dfc, bluemlein)>mini me>722(24/44.1)

I had that happen to me once, it turned out it was my mics. There was a short or something wrong with the connection in the mics itself, not to the other cables or units involved. That sucks, I just made a mono recording from the one channel in Audition.

hmm.  this is not my source/rig.  just doing the transfer for someone.  there was two spots towards the end where it seems the xlr came out completely (or some other cable).  you know loud pop then drop channel then pop back in.  that was easy to fix, i just copied the other channel in.   when I say slight hum it is just that.  I can barely hear it even with ear phones on.  it seems to me to be an amp buzzing etc.

Gordon linked this thread to me.  My rig.  I was dumbfounded during the show, as I saw this happening on the 722 meters.  Yet, cannot hear it in playback.  The loud dropout/pop is me changing the pad setting on the mics to see if that was the cause.  Anways, I've run this exact setup the other weekend (minus the 722, replaced with MT) without this arising.  Only difference was no mic pad engaged.  Still dumfounded what the problem was.  Maybe the mic pad?  Regardless, I could not and have not been able to duplicate this problem.

thanks for the info buff.  I've never had a wave look like this and since there isn't anything audible it threw me off.   never ran mic pad but use to run the pad no my dap1 when i ran 480 > dap1.
