Being in the distribution channel, I just got news of a new device by Belkin called the tune studio made for iPods.  Retails for $250.  Check it out.

certainly looks like a fun toy-- $250 sounds like a pretty fair price too.  I like the XLR's it has =)

I am sure that it will be an entry level mixer for some, but only two channels have XLR inputs, and I have to guess that the pres are not quite up to the standards of most people here.  I guess we will wait to see when it is released.

Seems expensive to me when you include cost of a 5th gen Ipod.
It only records 16-bit 44.1.
In total, the rig would cost about $500-550 including the Ipod.

Personally, I rather get a true solid state recorder.

And rockbox already supports recording on some ipods.... you just need a cable (DOCK <-> line-in), somebody on the rockbox forum bought  a bunch of dock connectors and made some adapters for himself
