BT help (open ports - still says I'm firewalled)
« on: May 22, 2007, 05:58:19 PM »
I have a Linksys WRT54GC router with the latest firmware and am running Azureus 2.5.0.4 on OSX. I have followed every set of available instructions (Azureus wiki, google) I can find for opening my BT ports and I am still getting the "firewalled" red light in Azureus and every tracker I use says I'm firewalled. I even tried DMZ-ing my local IP, but to no avail. How can I get the necessary ports open? Is there a way I can tell if it's my ISP?

I have tried port forwarding, uPNP, and DMZ with no success. Thanks in advance for the help!
-Matt

Did you open the ports to you specific IP address of your computer?

Is your computer set to have a static ip or does the router handle ip addresses?

Yup, port range is open to this IP which is set to static by the router (static DHCP).

What port have you set Azureus/port forwarding to?

FWIW, alot of trackers have banned ports ranges around 6881.  Have you tried changing the ports to something in the 30000-40000 range?

49125-65534 are all forwarded to my internal IP. I have tried setting Azureus to a number of ports in that range, with no success.

Try the below site and it should walk you through step by step depending on the programs and operating system you're running.

Thanks for the recommendation, but I've tried that already. I can't even see a hit on my router. I'll have to try plugging directly into my cable modem and see if that does anything.

Update: plugged directly into the cable modem. Still couldn't find open ports. At this point, I'm convinced it's Comcast.

I had the same problem with the same router with concast.  go to portforward, you have to access the router directly and it takes a while for things to work out.  It seems that you just can't set the forward and check.  it took overnight for all my changes to take effect, kirk

I had to jump through all kings of hoops to make BT work with Comcast cable too. It's Comcastic!
I'm on DSL now and I am happier.
