Topic: Nuendo Help - 4 channel -> Stereo

Help here is greatly appreciated.  I have some B format recordings from the Soundfield that I've rendered down to stereo using a VST plugin in Nuendo but I still show 4 channels in the waveform / project.  I have what should be left and right, and then two channels of nothing, which is correct.  Does anyone know how I can take those 4 channles and export them down so I only a left + right stereo .wav?

You could try asking on the Nuendo forum (http://www.nuendo.com).  Lots of knowledgeable people over there.

1. To bounce your session to stereo wav, move your cursor over the timeline ruler area until it turns into a Pencil.


2. Click and drag to the right to make a blue selection on the timeline ruler.  This is your Export Region that will be bounced to disk.  You can grab the handles on either side to expand or contract it.


3. Go to File > Export > Audio Mixdown... and select the following options:
Files of type: Wave File (.wav)
Coding: PCM / uncompressed Waves
Channels: Stereo Interleaved

Thanks for the help, +t. One more related question.  When I'm exporting the selected region to stereo, is there a way to only select the one file in the project using the ruler.  In other words avoiding adding extraneous data by manually selecting the output range?  Right now every time I export, Nuendo is adding on a bit of blank data at the end of the file due to mse trying to manually select the region and overshooting the wav file a bit. 

Or is there a way to eliminate that "extra" data in another program so I don't have any gaps when joining with another file?

I actually don't know!  It drives me crazy also.  The best way I've had to do it was to keep zooming in on the end of the region I wanted to mark until I got it as close as I could.  I'll let you know if I find out how.

hmm I was thinking there's got to be a way to send the cursor to the end of the file then load in a second wav, and then export the whole range from both files seamlessly, just can't figure out how to do it systematically....I'll keep trying and keep you posted.

EDI: damn I'm dense sometimes...solution, load the first file, hit the cursor to end of file button at the top the ">I" button, then import the next audio file....seamless join.
