Like a Hyundai is cheaper than a BMW? Seriously, I think the Cantar is a piece of art, pretty much in a league of its own. It's the only piece of audio gear I've ever witnessed people swooning "I don't care what it does. I want it!"
If the PD606 is of comparable build quality, it might become just as successful. Then again, I think I read somewhere that Aaton has sold some 300 Cantars or so. That's not really many, or is it?
It's not many... To give you some idea, My Deva IV is serial number 102xx, so it was number 200 and something. I just got an invoice for my Deva 5.8, it is 104xx, so that's 400 and some change for the 5.8 model. (the Deva IV wasn't hugely popular, the V was more popular)... Anyhow, so if your number is correct 300 Cantars are a drop in the bucket. And in this case we're comparing BMWs and Mercedes, both in the same league in just about every way (ok, maybe not physical style)...
