used the omnis. came out nice, with the exception of the dropouts noted in the computer recording help forum. surprisingly enough, for oklahoma, there was no wind.

Great time of year here in joklahoma; not too often there are a couple of weeks with wind not blowing more than 10mph. Where (which venue) was this recording made?

I've been wondering about this same issue. I'll be recording indoors at an acoustically sweet theater from the 7th row soon. I'd like to try my new omnis, but I worry about crowd noise. If I have quiet friends on either side of me (stealthing here) blocking will I be pretty safe avoiding crowd noise using the omnis?

Omnis will pick up the people behind you.  Cards may be a better choice. YMMV.

Can you be sure they will let you run high?  I was shot down at one of those outdoor amphitheater things because seating was sloped and people behind me were bitching.  I usually run cards or hypers for everything because I am stubborn and poorly informed.

This is great...
