AT853 Card caps quiter than omni's..normal?

So I've noticed that when using my AT853 card caps on the 943 bodies, that they record about 12db lower than the 943 omnis. Is this normal??

That is possible.  It is the sensitivity of the capsules (bodies are the same).  IIRC it is something like 8-10dB difference, but a difference nonetheless.
