PCM-D1 Memory stick
« on: March 10, 2009, 10:18:17 AM »
Any one have any experience with memory sticks for the Sony PCM-D1? Having a hard time with some working and some not, even though they are of the same model number.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I have never had a problem with Sony or Sandisc, it just won't take anything bigger than 4GB.  Even the new 16GB Sony Pro Duo Mark 2, which works fine in the D50, will not work in the D1.

I use two with my d1 and they are both bought on ebay from a Shanghai vendor for $5.00 each.  They say sony duo on them and work flawlessly for the past year or so... I use them in an adaptor to fit duo pro sticks that came with them for $1.00 extra.

Hope you find some good sticks... at $5 it is worth a gamble, si?

Best,

John

Yup, thanks, I've had the best luck with the Chinese vendors on Ebay as well, So far the only 4GB sticks that work are the MS-EX4G marked H624L3L. I bought a 3 pack at a special price from the Tall's Camera website which were marked differently and none of them worked in my D1 but I tested them in my PSP 3000 and they worked fine. As far as I can tell it only gets picky with the 4GB cards. I haven't tried any Sandisk cards, what model number do I need for a 4 GB card?

Thanks,

Jon
