Nobody.... That's who I dont know why nobody does but they dont. Part of the problem is the fact that most "small recorders" use AA batteries and dont have switching power supplies to boost the voltage up

-A because its hard to make a switching supply that does not generate more noise then it does voltage
-B because most of the electronics in the small recorders now dont need more then + - 3 volts to operate.

CA makes a ridiculously small battery box.  If you tape loud stuff, it's all you will need.

I have a Sharp MD DR480 Minidisc recorder I'm thinking of digging out of storage - does anyone know what plug in power voltage it supplies, or how well it would work with church mics plugged straight in? Thanks!

I don't know about Sharp, but Sony minidisc will need an external battery box.

There are some low voltage mics (like the CAFS that Chris sells) that will probably work great with MD pip.  The CA-11 series will need a bit more juice, though.  They work fine with Edirol R09 and Sony PCM-D50, both good matches for these mics.

The terminal that supplies the power is the "mic in". No good. Get a box and run "line in".
