Have a Little Box with the
"External battery input via DIN-3 jack (maximum input +15VDC)"

The 9-volt battery in the LB will not last over an hour and a half. Need external power.

Can I buy a pre-made cable or do I have to have ted build me one for the DIN-3 jack?
Also, what battery would you guys recommend running the Little box with the DIN-3 jack?

Links to products would be great. Thanks in advance.

Have Ted make you one.  The Littlebox will run on an external 9v DVD battery.

GP Powerbank M2+ Series, 10 000 mAh  is nice and recommended. Can feed 5-12V to littlebox.
You need an usb c 9v-12v trigger modul between the powerbank and the DIN cable to trigger the powerbank to supply the voltage you prefer.

Has anyone ever tried powering a little box with USB 5v?

Cam,

IIRC, the littlebox functions best at 9v. Jon will correct me if I am wrong.

RC batts are the way to go IMO, and they are easy to come by. The higher the capacity, the longer the run time.
Keep some 9v on the side ALWAYS just in case, but as willdmb says, the littlebox will drain the higher voltage first if you want to keep a battery in the tray.

There are also the options  of 1) asking our resident cable maker Ted to fabricate you a specific DIN-3 cable to connect to your battery of choice, or 2) hacking the Tamiya connector and making your own.

Other than that I have mistakenly run it at 5v with no adverse affects, so you good a nice peiece of gear coming your way. ;)

Had ted build me a Din-3 cable and bought a talentcell rechargeable battery.

Thanks to those that responded. It is appreciated.

I emailed Jon and he said it would run on 5v just fine.

Worth it would be worth sharing, he said it should not damage anything.
