Tascam HD-P2 Issues
« on: June 30, 2009, 10:03:03 PM »
I have a HD-P2 that I use Sandisk CF cards with and get an annoying crackling sound on my recordings that sounds similar to crackling sound of a vinyl LP.  I have switched out cables, preamps and ADs and it does not seem to matter.  Has anyone else had this problem?

ONly time I ever had that problem with my P2 was when I had overs.  It did not take well to any type of clips and produced a very loud crack on recordings when that happened.

Sounds like an input or cable issue. What input are you using to connect to the P2? The XLR or RCA mic/line in, or SPDIF digi in?
Microtech Gefell M200: M20/M21/M27 caps> Bumblebee MiAGi-II/Darktrain silver cable's/"Chuck" Belden cables> Aerco MP-2 or Busman modded DR-680 pre-amps> Darktrain cables & interconnects> Tascam DR-680 (Busman mod)

the only issues I ever had were from bad SPDIF cables
maybe you have the prerecord buffer set TOO LOW on the P2
or have you tried a different brand of card?
