Topic: DPA 4061 > MPS 6020 ?

Hello,

I just bought a pair of DPA 4061 terminated with microdots and now I need a pre amp to run them.
I'd love to get the MMA 6000 but it's pretty expensive...
After a quick search, I found the MPS 6020.

Is anybody running DPA 4061s with the MPS 6020 ?
What do you guys think about this ?

Had never heard of it, but it is a battery box, not a preamp. If you record anything that isn't quite loud you really need a preamp with 4061's & an R-09 since the 4061's are not very sensitive and the R-09 gets noisy if you have to crank up the gain too much.

Some members here have ordered 2 microdot connectors and sent them to Chris Church to built them an ST-9100 preamp for their 4060 series mics. If it were me, I'd just get a tinybox or regular ST-9100 and have the DPA's reterminated to a 1/8" mini-plug.

I have been using 4060s>MPS6030 for a while now (the 6030 is the same as the 6020 but has an 1/8" out instead of RCAs).  Usually, mic-in and occasionally line-in when the music is really loud.  This has worked very well for me, but, as fmaderjr pointed out, the 4061 is a lot less sensitive than the 4060.  You might have to add a pretty good amount of gain from the recorder, depending on what you are recording...
