Small Mixer with Delay for Live Matrix

I've recently started doing some live recording at church - and I'd like to start doing some live matrix recordings, so I'm looking for a small dependable mixing board. I have access to to the main sound board and my own mics. The acoustics are pretty good in the building - but I'd still like something that allows me to apply some delay to my main board feeds. My main concerns are something fairly compact as space in the sound room is limited and of course the delay.
I was looking at this one:
http://www.amazon.com/Phonic-Helix-Board-12-Universal/dp/B002PLQMTU/ref=sr_1_2?s=musical-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=1300895798&sr=1-2
However it's slightly out of my price range, and the fact there are no reviews leaves me wondering - and has more inputs than I probably need. A 4-8 channel mixer would probably suffice.
Right now I'm recording things with AT933's, SP-PREAMP, and Edirol R-09HR. I'm also not against buying used equipment for this.

How about one of these?

they're discontinued (and were pretty cheap when the last lot were being sold off), but they're small and battery powered and they've got built in effects (not 100% on the delay being there, have a look at the manual)

those mixers with on board digital effects apply effects to all channels. Even tho the send is labeled efx it really means that you can put your effects unit on that send then it would need to be returned on the efx return.
I also think you have a hard time getting your delay exactly right in a live environment doing it on the fly. Way too much room noise you will not be able to hear it accurately enough on headphones.

Set up the "audience" mics on stage facing the audience, and reverse the phase on those channels. Or, use omnis if you need more of the PA. If you set up on the stage, there's no need for the delay.
