In a nut shell this is what I've got:
Two vocal channels with an empty fx chain. Both vocal channels routed to a
submix channel, via the "Track Destination" button found below each channel
in the mixer, with verb in the fx chain
In between songs, when the vocalist is speaking, I want to eliminate the verb.
I split the vocal tracks into several objects, thinking I could bypass the fx chain
on a per object basis via the options available in the object editor.
Seems that checking the "FX Bypass" in the middle-right cluster of check boxes
doesn't bypass the verb applied to the submix channel. I've alo tried unchecking
the two options found for DirectX/VST plugins (pre or post) in the "Fx/Routing"
button near the bottom of the right side. I am using a VST plugin for the verb.
I thought perhaps the "FX Bypass" checkbox might only apply to the fx chain the
object is a member of (ie, not the submix channel, but the vocal channel itself).
Well, that doesn't appear to be true either. I set the "Track Destination" for
each vocal channel to my playback instead of the submix channel, then applied the
verb to each vocal channel's fx chain, and for good measure turned off the verb
in the submix. I still hear the verb on those objects with the "FX Bypass" on.
What am I missing?
