sort of on topic, while being off topic at the same time,….

Underground cistern in Washington state. This space has a 45second reverb decay cycle.
The image is also a link to some info about this space:

There are tracks of this cistern featured in this CD, by David Hykes.  It is with the Harmonic Choir of harmonic overtone vocalists, a style most people know from Tuvan throat singing.  The harmonic overtones create other-wordly inhuman-like tones. The reverb cycle of the cistern plays off of this extremely well.  Well worth finding.

I guess that you're going to want a link or something to suggest what CD this is, ehh?

Curious if the cave in question is Germany's Balver Hohle?

It's loud and amplified, you'll be safest if you approach it like any inside venue with questionable acoustics and setup as Ted recommends.

That cool cistern is basically a gigantic reverb chamber.  Works for very specific types of tonal music without much transients, bathed in 'verb, would be a total mess for others.  Some caves offer very good acoustics for acoustic music depending on their geometry.  The non-uniform, non-parallel craggy surfaces form natural diffusers.  How many tourist caves still have pipe-organs built into them?  That used to be a thing.

Checkout the 333ft underground  Volcano room at Cumberland Caverns, TN http://cumberlandcaverns.com/bluegrass-underground/

One of the nice things about caves is they tend to have a consistent temperature and never get too hot or cold. Generally on the cool side unless you're around steam vents or something I guess.

The Cumberland Caverns mentioned above is exactly what this thread made me think of. I've never seen a show there but as a boy scout we visited, toured/explored (had my shoes sucked off in Bubblegum Alley), and slept there overnight.
