Yes, because I am in recording situations where I don't have time to set up the mics properly if I don't have gooseneck. With gooseneck, I just pull it out of my bag, plug it in, point the gooseneck the way I want it, and then hold the mics/battery box with one hand and the recorder with the other hand. Sometimes I set my bag on the ground and the recording gear on top of the bag, so that I can be free to run a video camera. This way, the mics stay put just the way I like them.
I've been using the mics as pictured above for over a year and it suits my purposes.
If there is an easier more obvious way, I am open to it!
