Bit Torrent help
« on: November 04, 2004, 12:23:03 AM »
I'm seeding this show for a local band that I taped and someone who says they're downloading it is having problems. I'm kind of new to seeding shows so I don't know if it's on my end or his? If anyone can see any problems that I missed let me know. When I search I'm showing that I'm seeding the show, it looks like people have downloaded it before, so I'm not sure what's wrong.
Thanks in advance for any help.

1. You are FIREWALLED. That isn't helping anything. You need to open up your ports. There are directions on how to do that on etree.

2. Your downloader is firewalled too, but I don't think that's a huge problem (for you at least).

3. It looks like it's working though. 1 seeder and 1 downloader.

I thought I disabled all firewalls and opened the ports for my router.

I'm not farmiliar w/ that program, but, as I'm sure you've allready done, make sure 6881-6889 ports are open on your options. If you've allready done that.....well, there are alot of variables here. There could be any number of problems on the other guys end. One thing that has made a big difference in the past for me was which bitorent client I used. Everybody has a different opinion on this but this is the one I use this one:     http://www.zdnet.fr/telecharger/windows/fiche/0,39021313,39069320s,00.htm

If you're not allready using this client give it a try. I've had really good results from it.
