digital patchbays

I am thinking of buying this to facilitate easy patching at YMSB's NYE show.

Anybody ever use one of these things?

im not sure how theirs is, but if you want a fun soldering project building a digi patchbay is one of the easier starter projects

I have always been impressed with Ed at Kindkables workmanship on the cables, I am sure this is no exception

THinking out loud here, but wouldn't a composite video digital distribution amplifier do the same thing?

Agree with the above -- ed is good people and I would continue to buy from him without hesitation.

The gain is just a calibration pot to insure the patchbay is putting out the right voltage for a spdif signal.  I imagine Ed/kindkables gets it set where it needs to be before sending it out to the end user.  Nothing you'd need to mess with in the field.

Yep, for instance the Kramer Tools KR-105V video distribution amp would work as a digital coax patchbay.  $135 from markertek.  I'd say spending the extra few bucks from Ed/kindkables to get the field battery system and to have it correctly calibrated for our purposes is worth it though.

i run a pro-digital patchbay and it works great.      looks almost identical to that one.

I have used Ed's patch bay, and it works very well .  I am going to be bringing one on the www.jamcruise.com as a matter of fact.

I always reccommend www.kindkables.com .
