cross platform firewire harddrives question
« on: December 13, 2004, 11:42:50 AM »
I'm looking to add a portable firewire drive that I can use with my OSX and XP machines.
XP can't read/write a Mac extended(HPFS) partition, but can OSX read/write a FAT partition?

any performance issues to be aware of with something like this?

gracias

just been reading through LaCies support section and it mentioned that.

anyone used MacDrive on a pc? supposedly this lets you use a HPFS partiton on a PC...wondering if there are any 'side effects' in the data, ie, copying from the HPFS firewire drive to a local NTFS drive.
