Topic: Gear needed for short-term: borrow, buy/re-sell, buy used & keep?

There will soon be two small children in my family, so my traveling to see shows will be rather limited. In fact, I might only make it to an annual festival, so it doesn't make sense to tie up big dollars for a once-a-year event. On the other hand, I certainly don't want those shows to turn out crappy, either.

I currently have a pair of Audix M1290, PS-2, Hosa MIT-176, and M1, but I think I really need a better A/D. A wmod UA-5 is easy to come by and easy to re-sell. It's not stealthable, which is my only objection to the UA-5 option. A modSBM is what I'd really like to try, but they are hard to come by. A used V3 would be a buy/must-sell-quick proposition for budget reasons. I know lots of y'all have swapped gear, so I thought I'd get some advice from the more experienced. Thanks for the help.

if you are only going to do a limited amount of shows...annual festival...then keep what you have (if you can) and patch.  If there is a UA-5 that comes up that is w/in budget get it...I wouldn't worry about stealth if you are lucky to even make it to a show...go for the patch.

look for an mp-2/mixpre/shure fp-24 and a sbm-1 or flying calf for the a/d.  Thats stealthable or just run line into the m1

oh and if you want to sell the audix's i may be interested or up for a trade.
