Topic: Help prepping raw audio for seeding/distro ... adjusting gain/normalizing/resamp

Hi everyone, I'm pretty new here so bare with me...
To start...i have read a LOT of the archived articles and still have some questions....

Basically, I want to get my recordings ready to burn to cd, seed, share, whatever...
I have my minidisc masters, I record them to wav on my mac and have the files opened in peak, or I can do it on my pc with wavelab or Cool edit.
I posted a flac of one of my minidisc recordings here   Its 30 seconds of a wesley willis show I recorded 6 years ago[3-4mb].  I feel the world needs this now more than ever. : )
What I wanted to ask of you guys is take a listen and make sugestions as to what I can do to normalize, adjust gain, etc to make it sound better.  its a very noisy recording, but still enjoyable because of the content.
So please, rip it up, destroy it, whatever you like,  I'm just looking for a little direction on how to clean it up.  Once I can get this down, I think I have a few shows some of you may enjoy.  Plus I'm recording the Crue next week and want to seed it at top speed.

It is heavily, heavily clipped.  Probably from the transfer to computer.  When you do your transfer to the mac and 're-record' you should start by setting either [the output of your md] or [the input of your soundcard] or both, so you don't max out the levels *ever*.  How does the original md sound?

the original is  pretty brutal...  it was recorded with a computer mic
I'll try both things you mentioned and let you know.

Also, I got some decent mics now, JB3, batterybox...none of my new recordings should sound like that, hopefully.

It's still clipped.  Drop your levels down a bit so it doesn't clip at all during the transfer.
