JB3: Recording is super slow (how to fix)
« on: April 08, 2005, 06:48:34 PM »
I know I've seen this discussed before, but I can't seem to find the thread.

My recording from last night is super slowed down. Is there any way to fix this. I have Wavelab and Sound Forge.

I ran the Jb3 out of the optical from my UA5.

Hopefully I can fix this. I did tape the sbd as well, but usally the board sounds like crap.

Thanks,
MIKE B

Okay I figured out how to fix the speed. Still have some issues though. Many clicks. Hopefully I can clear that up.

I guess I had the UA5 set to 96k and then switched it.

Wierd thing is that the clicks don't show up on the waveform. I've had clicks before and I would just pencil tool them out. There are way to many clicks in this one to do that.

If anyone knows anything else, please chime in.

Thanks,
MIKE B

PS. Luckily I'm going to see the same band for the next 3 nights so I can redeem myself  ;D

it's probably junk.  The JB3 can't keep up when fed 96k data and you'll have dropped samples all over the place.  Best you could do is set the header to 96k and run some agressive declicker on it.
fyi - when you change the settings, the UA-5 doesn't actually change sampling rate until you power down and back up again.

Thanks. Good to know.

I guess that is one of the downsides of bringing extra power (I had 2 7Ah batteries with me). I just left the sucker on all night.

Luckily the SBD actually sounds okay. Off to night 2.

I have noticed the same thing, glad to hear that it's normal.
