Topic: NEED HELP for a stealth recording. reducing static from shrit

hi, i posted this in another section. i apologize for posting it again, but i think it belongs in this section:

ive been reading through the stealth threads and saw some really cool ideas. but im in a bit of a different stealthy situtaion. for the regualr concerts i just clip the mics to the lapels of my shirt. i decided the easiest way to hide the mics is to just place them underneath my tshirt(i will have hard nipples  Wink ) . ive tested it out and the sound quailty is really not bad. i just get obvious static with the shirt rubbing against the mics. im asking if theres any way in possbly reducing the static. any tricks in placing my mics or something. any suggestions will help greatly. im using SP-BMC-2 mics.

ok, i get what you mean by windscreens now. i feel stupid

anywho, how much do they reduce? i think i already have them on to be honest. should i get a windscreen to put over the windscreen?

the mics are fuzzy, so im assuming thats the windscreen over hte actual mic. they came like that, i never put them on. heres a link of them:

actually when i look at the picture from the link, the mics definitly have the windscreens on. and the "static", is definitley coming from the fabric rubbing against the mics. so i guess i already have the windscreens, the static is not too bad, i could still listen ok. i was just wondering if you guys got any ideas.

lmao, i was standing up and moving a little. ill run some tests. im sure ill get static during the soundcheck cause im not really good at sitting entirly still. my ass stats to hurt real fast

thanks for the help though. i guess theres really not much i can do with the mics being under my shirt.

What about a stealth hat?  Honestly, the security will not be looking for anyone who is taping a sound check so don't get all nervous about it.  Poke around here for some stealth hat ideas, there's quite a few options:  baseball forward, baseball backward, beanie, kangol, cowboy...  When people think of microphones they think of the things on stage, not the tiny little things you have, so security won't exactly be looking through the people there for someone wearing tiny mics.  Listen to Moke though cuz a croakie is probably the easiest way to hide your mics and the wires without sacrificing mic position or sound quality.  However, you'll look either like someone heading to a nascar event or a secret service member!
