While I know the 722 is a giant step forward in the tapers evolution I still have yet to hear any SMOKIN' tapes from them.  A bunch of really nice ones but none that just make you want to sell all your shit to buy one.  I feel like the 722/744/MicroTracker/etc. are really just the first batch of new recorders to hit the market.  The 24 bit market is still in its infancy.  Hold on to what you have.  Its a proven winner, the 722 isn't yet.

I hear ya. I really only need something to write data - I'm not giving up my v2/ad2k!
722 would be overkill for that
