Marantz CDR-420

This box has me totally interested. It has digital in and out, could be a great all in one 16bit mastering device. The fact that it has a 20gig hd along with the ability to burn to cd. I like. I'm calling Oade's today to get the scoop.

This recorder is big and heavy (11 x 9 x 4 inches, 5.5 lbs), and
requires AC power (although a battery plus inverter could be made to work).
So it's a "portable" recorder only in that it has a handle to help
you carry it in from the car.  But it'll work fine if you can set up
near mains power, and 16/44.1 digitizing is all you need.

I see the optional battery pack but I also note that in the spec sheet it states

I don't see 12V DC anywhere yet.. where did you see this at?

Yes.  An optional lead acid battery (RPS420) allows the CDR420 to be used when AC power is not available, or as battery power back-up.
Yes I see the picture too, but you expect at least I do, to see them state DC power in their spec sheet

Size and weight could be an issue here. I think it would be sweet to have an all in one box with the 660 style mods and be able to burn cds right after the show. A 671 is also of interest but then you've got the cost of flash cards.
