is there anything remotely like cdwav for os x..?
« on: January 03, 2006, 08:20:36 PM »
easy to use

fully functional: writes/edits cue sheets, cuts on sector boundaries only, gui is VERY user friendly

i dont want a full wav editor. i just want a program to track with, and maybe resample/dither, too...

i know audacity works on os x, so maybe a cue sheet creator plugin for audacity is what i am lookng for - is there such a thing..?

you can track with sound studio and amadeus, and aren't they shareware?

just drop markers and then export the tracks

well it looks like the audacity development team is already on it...

Splitting/Parsing?: The ability to create "split points" and either export them to text in a format compatible with shntool, or a cue sheet for CD burning, or use them directly within Audacity to export a single project to multiple audio files as a batch operation (i.e. splitting a concert into multiple files). Make the split (20 votes) Mostly there via label track / cursor snap-to in version 1.2.3 (needs more work-see Label/Track?? name and Number below in segmenting)

more info here

lots of nyquist plugins, too (not that i use that sort of thing, but it is nice to see the active development nonetheless)

I use Audacity on my PowerBook G4 to track, resample, and dither. Once I am done with the files I run them through xAct to correct Sector Boundary errors. Both are free programs.
