MP3 in lineage?

Hey, I have some audio cds that I'd like to verify whether or not they are burned from MP3s. I suspect that I could rip a .wav from the cd, and somehow determine this - anyone have any ideas?
Thanks-

Tickets are dead to me. Except the ones I have, don't have, and lost. Not to mention the ones you have, don't have, and lost. And the ones that other dude has, doesn't have, and lost. Let me know if you need some tickets, I'm happy to oblige.

I vaguely recall David Klein writing up a page about doing this. Found it:
