I have a pair of 435s - I haven't used them enough to have an opinion on the stock mic..
This looks like an interesting and inexpensive upgrade path...

I don't know about these claims. Isn't the mechanical part of the mic going to suck? Besides, the board shown in one of those pictures had tantalum caps. What's up with that?
