Topic: question about my rig/setting up stuff

I've been testing out the rig I got (sharp md) and i was thinking about going to a show this weekend if it doesn't rain too much lol. I was wondering if I was taping from the lawn what would be the best things to do? Should I have the md thing set for high sensitivity or low? I'm not exactly planning on getting a killer recording from it, i'm just using it as pratice for getting the stuff in and then using it during the show to see how it all works. I don't have a big stereo system to test the stuf out so I was just using my pc and it picked up sound but only from one mic. Would that be a setting I have ot change to put it into stereo or just that the one mic doesn't work?

what type of mic are you using? if it only picked up one channel (assuming that it is indeed a stereo mic) you may have to check and make sure that the connector is getting in all the way. as far as the "sensitivity" goes, i've never used an MD but i'm sure you could get a good estimate of where you need to be level wise with the house music before the show starts.

Run with low sensitivity for all amplified music. 

As far as the one mic thing goes check to see if the MD is recording in mono.  Make sure it is SP-ATRAC stereo mode as compaired to Long Play or Mono.
