i just wanted to make sure he doesn't want the preamp...

the best thing is talked to someone knowledgable about the mics from where you are purchasing them.

Would the preamp be so important? I've never used a preamp before, so I don't have any experiences how useful a preamp is in the field. It will be a plus of another 120 dollars.
