Question about burning MPEG to DVD?

i have a bunch of MPEG files.  is there a way to burn them to a DVD without the "TAO" (for lack of a better term).  i tried it once and it has to stop and load after each track.  i'm betting not, but i'm not that familiar with burning DVDs yet so i could be doing something wrong.

how are you burning them??  as dvd video or data??  if video what are you using to encode?

there is a bunch of software out to handle that, DVDSanta for one, but yeah the above question needs to be addressed first.

yeah, basically i use nero.  i tried to burn it as a ROM and that didn't work.  if you do DVD video won't it encode it for you?

If the MPEGs are already in a DVD compliant format (ie. mpg-2 + ac3/mp2/pcm audio + correct framesize + bitrate) then you can use an authoring tool such as DVD-Lab (www.mediachance.com - 30 day trial) to author a disc so that all of your MPEGs play seamlessly.

Within DVD-Lab, load each MPEG into a "movie" container and then join each movie in the "connections" window. Then compile your DVD, check that it plays fine with a software DVD player (PowerDVD or WinDVD) and then burn using Nero.

DVD-Lab will not re-encode your video.

yeah, basically i use nero.  i tried to burn it as a ROM and that didn't work.  if you do DVD video won't it encode it for you?

you need to use nero vision express to encode to dvd.  you can even make a simple menu etc.  dvd santa will do it as well but with no menus.  the results with both are good but it takes a while (2 hours +) for one dvd.  I suggest getting a player that can play avis, xvids,dvix etc.  then just burn as data.
