give me a list of what I need for a Schoeps stealth setup
« on: October 12, 2006, 04:04:16 PM »
Right now I use DPA 4061's with a core sound battery box.  I've been wanting to get some Schoeps mics for a while.  Thing is, I don't have any clue what I need for a Clutter free...Ultra stealth setup.  All I tape is stealth shows, so the smaller setup I can get the better.  So from reading about Schoeps mics the only thing I know is that I'd probably want MK4 capsules.  Can someone please tell me the cheapest and smallest setup I can run with Schoeps...Including a battery box that will run to my HI-MD unit.  I don't need a digital out from anything.  And If you could include some links where the items can be obtained I'd appreciate it.  thanks in advance for any help.

MKx caps + preamp w/ mods to replace the CMC6 bodies:

<1>  MK4 / KCY 250/NIg (where N = length in meters) > Sonosax SX-M2/LS2 > Hi-MID
<2>  MK4 / custom active cables* > NBox > HiMD

* come with the NBox

CCMx caps, which do not require mic bodies or their equivalent in a modded preamp:

<3>  CCM4 > compact preamp of your choice (Sound Devices MP-2, Aeta PSP-2 or -3, etc.) > Hi-MD
Milab VM-44 Links > Fostex FR-2LE or
Naiant IPA (tinybox format) > Roland R-05

Schoeps mk4 caps > NBox > HiMD

contact "Schoepsnbox" here on ts.com for the NBox.  the NBox will include the cables and collette's to connect the mk4 caps to the NBox.
