DVD-A question
« on: December 23, 2006, 02:04:52 AM »
This may sound stupid, BUT does DVD-A support ANY 24-Bit audio All the way down from 24/44.1k all the way up to 24/192 correct? or is DVD-A stuff JUSt 24/48 and 24/96 ??? Just wondewring, I thought I heard somewhere online that DVD-A is ONLY 24/48 and 24/96 and 24/192, in that case, I would stop recording at 24/44.1k altogether for the ease factor of just dithering and either record strictly at 24/48 or 24/96

any thoughts/comments are appreciated :)

HAPPY HOLIDAZE :smoking:

afaik, DVD-A supports 16, 20, or 24 bit - sample rates of 44.1kHz > 192 kHz - please correct me if I am inaccurate :)

I believe that the Audio DVD Creator program only supports 48kHz and 96kHz....

yes, audio-dvd-creator only accepts 48 or 96 kHz, because it creates DVD-Video discs.
the DVD-Audio format, as Kyle mentioned, accepts pretty much any samples rate from 44.1 > 192 kHz for stereo recordings
(I believe you can make a 5.1 DVD-Audio disc, but then it only accepts up to 96 kHz)
