You are correct that dynamic mics don't get a lot of discussion here. They certainly don't measure as well as a good condensor mic. This one looks to have a lot of shape to its response curve, not just a flat line like a condensor usually measures. If you have downloaded the datasheet, you'll see that its output is considerably lower than you are probably used to ( 1.2 mV/Pa = -58 dBV ). There are times that you might like this, and times that you won't.
I have not used this mic, but I have a pair of M 88 TG, also dynamic, that I actually like quite a lot. They don't take a lot of fussing, they just do their job, and sound pretty good, with a resopnse curve that might be similar, but might be more "curvey" than the 201. These are my only Hypercardiods, so what I like about them might be the pickup pattern as much as the transducer, but that's the way it goes. On other forums (the old rec.audio.pro possibly) I've heard these 'TG' M88s called a pale imitation of the original, for what that's worth. B&H has the best price I've seen for these things.
Most of my recordings with these mics have been things like high school jazz bands, street sounds, some solo flute. I know what I like, but don't consider myself any kind of golden-ear audiophile, for what all of that's worth too.
Happy new year everybody!
