Recording line-in on the MT: Pulsing background noise
« on: February 20, 2007, 02:07:17 AM »
Hi, I usually record via the SPIF in on my MT...I have recently started to record via line-in from a radio. I realized that when I record via line-in there is a constant very soft pulsing sound in the back ground. Can someone tell what might this bug be? Anyone experience this? It's very soft and the pulsing sound is very noticeable when recording room noise. This sound is constant throughout the recording. Is there something wrong with my cable or my recorder? I am using this cable:

I have that same cable. I used it for awhile in conjunction with a battery box and some AT cards. Don't remember any noise.

All I can guess is that the MT runs hot and your radio signal is probably introducing that noise, where the MT makes it more noticeable.

I tested by turning the radio off and I still hear this background pulsing noise.

I say do this..  select the input as if you were recording like before, but dont actually connect..  then record and see if the "sound" is still there..
