Need mic stand recommendation ....
« on: March 14, 2007, 07:57:28 PM »
Finally ready to graduate from the boom mic stand i've been rocking since I got my gear together a few months ago.  Just running c4's so I want a stand appropriate to the size of the mics and shocks.  (c4s are real small). Also need to extend about 9-10' for outdoor taping but also small footprint good for lopro indoors.  not looking to spend more than 80$.   Figured yall might have a recommendation. or maybe a beater sitting around in the closet.  thanks in advance for any advice.  pb

Sounds exactly like me a week ago. boomstand and c4's. I got one of these this week: http://cgi.ebay.com/Heavy-Duty-10-ft-Light-Stand-New_W0QQitemZ120095948428QQcategoryZ30080QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

feels great, spring loaded so you can feel safe when the venue is in a shady neighborhood, a few different options as far as footprint, if you want to run it as small as possible you'll have to make sure that you guard it well to keep it from getting pushed over.

and since your budget is at 80.00, I heard of this site from somewhere on here: http://estore.heavenspa.com/Category.pasp?cid=apic&txtCategory=Music

sometimes they get deep inside a jam and there is no such thing as up or down, just a momentary endless floating in perfect space
