Mono to Stereo conversion
« on: April 06, 2007, 05:44:37 AM »
I recorded a show the other day which turned out pretty decent aside from the fact that it's in mono & does not play through both speakers which is a pain. So my question is are there any programs out there that I can use to fix this problem & that are easy to use seeing as I'm still very much a newbie at all this

Cheers

yeah you can do it... as a matter of fact you can do it for free without purchasing any software..

goto http://www.goldwave.com/ and download their software. They have it to where you can download and use it a while for free. Anyway once it's installed open the file with the program. you'll then want to save it as a stereo file. Once it's saved in stereo you should see 2 halves (one that has no information in it and the other with all of it). Goto edit at the top menu go down to channel and select either the left or right channel whichever one has the sound in it. Highlight all of it and hit ctrl + c. then switch to the other channel and paste it. then you should have a full recording. go back to the top to edit again and select channel, then both. save the file and it should be good to go in stereo. Or at least the best version of stereo your going to be able to emulate.
