DID I JUST LOSE MY FILE?!
«

This is my first time editing any show I have taped. So I am doing my editing in Sound Studio 3 and I want to make one master file to save and do all my editing from. I'm not thinking about file size at this point. I copy and paste the other 2 tracks that my 722 split and then save the file. I go back later to open said master file that is 3.64 GB and SS3 won't open it. Needless to say I am freeking out at the thought that I just ruined the file and will never be able to retrieve it. Can someone please help?
Thanks

Loose file? You should tighten it.
I have never used SS3, so I can't help there. I hope you aren't editing the original file on the 722 and still have it there. I always keep my files on the 722 until I'm done assembling the master FLAC and have them copied to both of my backup HDs.

Well, then it (original file) should be still on the 722, right? I'm not familiar with that software either, but some programs won't open files larger than 2 GB.

The file was deleted off the 722 once I copied to my HD. Well, once I updated to the new SS3 software the file opened w/o a problem. +T for replying

Sometimes, softwares like SS and Audacity will not open renamed files with long, really long names such as "The Kings of Swing-02/04/2006.copy.aiff" or something like that. Did you rename the original file in such fashion?
