I hit up Nelly Furtado's show at the MSG theater...I had a great time but I was noticing something going on with the right channel/right microphone...it kept swaying from loud to soft every so often. I wound up brickwalling the last hour of her show on the right channel but the left channel was just fine. When I taped the second opener, I noticed that the right channel dropped down on its own, so I cranked up the gain on the mma6000 (from 10 to 20).
The gain on the left channel stayed consistenly on 10 and didn't act up.
The gain on the right channel fluctuated on its own when Nelly came out after I dropped the gain on the right back to 10 before she came out, so I had to set it back to 20 hence the brickwalling which occured after the right channel got louder on its own. I know I can fix the right channel by copy n pasting the left channel over, but this is fucking bullshit. The microdots were in firmly, the interconnect was in firmly, the battery was basically new (one of those lithium 9V...I used it once for a megadeth show two weeks ago). The light on the mma6000 was blinking green....
I'm at a loss here....what the hell happened? I'll test the rig this weekend and see if I can duplicate the problem by recording by stero play some cds.
