Error from iRiver ihp 120
« on: July 05, 2007, 09:42:08 AM »
I turned my iRiver on last night before I left my house for a concert. I get error msg "ATA error: -1 Insert USB cable and press a buttom" I do this and then says "Bootloader USB mode". I try to check the drive and nothing appers to come up in Windows. Any help will be most thankful. Corey

Also on Friday of last week, On accident I changed the (E) Drive from 120 to 100, not sure if that had to do with something but now it loading a FM player? What did I do wrong?

Sounds like the infamous broken daughterboard soldering problem...
It's fixable if you know how to solder...

Wow, not sure if I can solder this out. I have never done anything like that before. So I have to replace the hard drive?

btw the battery is fine.

Well the harddrive is probably fine, the problem lies with a connector inside that connects the disk (amongst others)

You can always try to find a capable person in your neighborhood?
I live in Belgium so I fear I can't really help out for this...
