It says the trial period is 31 days for CD Wave Editor. Can I use it after that?
CD Wave is shareware. The software will not cripple itself and/or otherwise prevent you from continuing to use it after the trial 31 days. However, the shareware license requires you to purchase the software if you continue to use it beyond the trial days. If you do continue using it, the purchase price is a very small price to pay for such a well-designed, easy-to-use tool.
Alternatively, you can use Audacity to split tracks. I don't think the workflow to which taylordb linked covers configuring Audacity to split tracks so there are no sector boundary errors, though. At any rate, it's pretty easy, but I don't have it in front of me to add to the workflow thread at the moment.
And take taylordb's advice: you really do need to read and understand the workflow thread to which he linked. Same goes for any software editor, Audacity just happens to have one, while other common audio editing s/w does not (yet?).
