In hopes of improving my stealthability, I've been offered to have my AT853's modded from the XLR outs they currently have to two 1/4", right angled jacks. With this, I can then cut my deneke ps-2 and 1/8" > two 1/4" jack converter out of the mix and still power my AT853's using phantom power provided by my Microtrack24/96.
Can I get the pros and cons of doing this mod to my mics?
If this is a smart idea, and I end up doing it, will using the phantom power feature on my Microtrack, will this decrease the recording juice I get?
Also, ISO: Battery stick converter jack (mine was smashed in the pit of the Rage show @ coachella). It is the mini usb plug on one end and a skinny hollow jack that goes into the battery stick. I need to connect the battery stick with my Microtrack using it.
