Don't think I can afford it  :P

So one last question. Is 24 bits recording really worth it ?

http://taperssection.com/index.php/topic,90370.0.html

Just decided that everything I do from now on will be 24 bit.
Busman Audio BSC1-K1/K2/K3/K4 > HiHo Silver XLR's > Deck TBD

CA-14 (c,o)/MM-HLSC-1 (4.7k mod)/AT853(4.7k mod)(c,o,h,sc)/CAFS (o)/CA-1 (o) > CA-9100 (V. 4.1)/CA-9200/CA-UBB > Sony PCM-D50/Sony PCM-M10

So I have one last question for you guys before I take a decision. In terms of sound quality what would give me the best results : DAT recorder (such as TCD-D7) or the Edirol R-09 ?

Thanks for helping me once again.

Antoine

I owned a D-7 (just sold), have an M1, and an R-09.  R-09 gives 24 bit and lacks the drop out issues you can get with a DAT recording.  I still have both recorders for occasions like today when I am going to try and record two bands at a festival at the same time. (with help!)

hi

AFAIK DAT (unless you go special formats, like Alesis') is only 16bits at 44.1khz/48khz, while the edirol r-09 will give you 24bits at these two sample rates. see the numerous threads about 24bit vs. 16bit...
