Topic: Matching L & R channels w/ audacity???

ok, so i am still using the old Denecke AD20 as a preamp. To those firmiliar with the unit, the level adjustments are pretty difficult to match due to their poor deisgn. I use audacity for my transfers. Is there any way to automatically match my levels in both channels. Sometimes there is a slight diference is level however I am not able to amplify the lower side due to peaking levels elsewhere in that channel.

I would use the "split stereo track" normalize the left channel and then repeat and normalize the right channel.  That is how I do it in another editor and it works just fine.  That can be done in Audacity; I just looked it up.

"Split Stereo Track" >  ("Split Stereo Track" is on the pull-down menu to the left of the track)

Click on the track you want to adjust

Hit the "<<" button...

From the Edit menu, use "Select > Cursor to End"

Effects "Amplify"
