I've never had a problem uploading 16bit files, but I just starting uploading 24 bit recordings to archive and I'm having an ongoing problem with MD5's verifying correctly for all of the 24bit shows that I've uploaded. I can't figure it out and now it appears as if I'm shut out of uploading anything else to the archive until I get it corrected. So I'll try to explain what I do.
- First I track out and create my 24bit files like normal.
- Next I create a text file to name the tracks and give information about the recording
- Next I compress the 24bit files to FLAC format (uncheck box to align on sector boundaries) by dropping the files into FLAC frontend.
- Next I run an MD5 on all of the compressed FLACs using MD5 Summer.
- I open the MD5 file created by MD5 Summer and take out the first three lines so that the first line of the MD5 file is the first checksum.
- I upload the whole works to the Archive.
However, some time after I finish the upload, I get an automatic message back from LMA that says the files have failed the MD5 check and that the files will not be available for downloading until I fix the issue. Contrary to this message however, the files show up on the website and everything is fine for people to download the files. In fact, people have been downloading the files and the MD5 checks out fine.
The problem is that I have this message sent to me that seems to lock up my account until I respond to the LMA admins with a correction. Since everything seems to be running OK, I'm not sure that there's anything wrong...except I don't want to keep getting these error messages every time I upload a 24 bit file and then having my account locked and have to go through this every time.
So does anyone have any ideas on what might be happening?
FWIW, here's a link to one of the LMA deriver messages that is made when the files are derived...each of the 24bit shows I've uploaded has a similar set of deriver messages.
